Disaster Ready Go-Bag was founded in Southern California in 2024 with a simple but urgent mission: to help individuals and families prepare before they have to evacuate.

That mission became even more important after the Eaton Fire devastated the city of Altadena, CA. With only minutes to leave their homes, many residents were forced to evacuate without essential documents, medications, clothing, or emergency supplies. Their experience underscored the critical need to be prepared for rapid evacuations during a life-threatening emergency.

Disaster Ready Go-Bag provides free evacuation starter backpacks to help families begin planning for an emergency evacuation. By making preparedness more accessible, we aim to raise awareness about evacuation readiness and give people a practical head start so their most important items are organized and ready to go when every minute counts.
